Celina Jaitley who has been the brand ambassador of the Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival for over two decades has now distanced herself from the LGBTQ event. In an official statement that she released on social media, Celina Jaitley shared that she is no longer associated with the event as she does not want to be a part of anything that garners allegations that are 'directly or indirectly'  associated with nation's integrity.

In the statement, Celina Jaitley wrote that she willingly endorsed the event at her own cost for the past two decades, however, now she is disassociating herself from Kashish. Her statement read, "I would like to take this opportunity to update you all that I have decided to disassociate from my honorary & voluntary association with Kashish International Film Festival with immediate effect'.

Further, she wrote, "My role was solely & exclusively to honourably and voluntarily help promote the film festival since its inception, on my own expense which I did for ten years of love of cinema and my two decades long dedication to LGBTQIA rights."

In the end, she mentioned that she does not want to be associated with anything that has called for allegations for tampering the nation's integrity.
